About Us
Beekeeping For Newbees™ started with a simple goal: to make beekeeping more approachable, more practical, and more rewarding for anyone who wants to learn. What began as a podcast has grown into a broader platform with training programs, videos, and community support, all designed to help beekeepers succeed in the real world.
For me, honey bees are more than just fascinating creatures. They have tremendous therapeutic value, and beekeeping has been shown to reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, depression, and PTSD. As a disabled veteran and former first responder, I know firsthand the relief, calm, and sense of purpose that comes from working with bees. Sharing that experience with others is one of the driving forces behind this project. This is also why I created the non-profit The Healing Hive Project, which brings free training to veterans and first responders who are interested in learning to keep bees.
I first started the podcast to help new beekeepers avoid the costly mistakes I made when I began without a mentor and surrounded by inconsistent advice. That podcast has since grown into a top 1.5% show globally, with more than 600,000 downloads, and it continues to connect and inspire beekeepers every week.
From there, Beekeeping For Newbees™ expanded into the Master Beekeeper Program, built to remove unnecessary barriers while maintaining high standards of quality and rigor. By combining proven practices from programs across the country with modern accessibility and flexibility, we created an approach that works for anyone who wants to grow their skills, no matter their circumstances.
Today, we remain focused on one thing: helping beekeepers grow stronger colonies and make smarter decisions through every season. Whether you are brand new, trying to recover from early mistakes, or working toward advanced certifications, this is a place built to meet you where you are.

Thank you for letting us be a part of your beekeeping journey!
